Default Type S intake manifold any good??

I have a Type S engine and I'm planning to get a Euro R im. I noticed that the throttle body of a Type S is bigger than my H22A4 throttle body, so is it any better? Is there a difference between the two (base vs Type S)? And should I get a Euro im? THanks

First off, the Type S manifold is basically the same as all of the other H22 manifolds. So yes, get the Euro R. Do you know what it takes to put the Euro R on? It's not just a bolt on affair; it is but it's not.

Second, all H22's use a 60mm throttle body. Except for the Type S and Euro R, which use a 62mm.

Before you put the manifold on decide on what size throttle body to run. Then have the manifold port matched to it. My .02

what do you think is the best throttle body size for the best performance?

Yeah, the Type S is the same manifold. Except its the runners are polished a bit more. The skunk2 intake is an easier install than the Euro-r. And if given the choice between a 60mm TB and 62mm, go with the 62

We're talking manifolds not intake pipes

Anyway, the Type S is a regular H22 manifold that's hand polished and has a slightly bigger TB. If you've got the money and feel like doing the mods to install it, go Euro R. And I'm sure you could get a few $$ for your old Type S manifold when you're done

LOL

Most people run a 68mm or 70 mm TB from what I've seen

I believe ID is for inside diameter, so from the inside it has a length of 2-9/16 inches, which is approximately 65.0875mm

I have a Professional Products 68mm with my Euro R manifold. There was a noticable power increase with the TB and Euro R install and I'm untuned.

As far as what size is best. I've seen no real proof of which size is best. I have read people saying that H22's needs big throttle bodies. I've also read that throttle body size is dictated by the plenum volume of the manifold; small plenum should get a big throttle body and vise versa.

You should also note that a bigger throttle body will give you better throttle response. Some people even say it's more like an on/off switch. With my 68mm it is noticable that I'm not on the gas as much as I used to be with my OEM 60mm. 3/4 throttle to full throttle their isn't as much of a power increase. Although, the fact that I'm untuned has to be factored in.

Also, for an intake, go with a 3" cold air intake with a BPi flow stack. Blake has a dyno compairison and the results were great.
