Default Slo_RSX's JDM 92 Civic SiR II EG6 Build (56K allow 6-8 weeks to load)

Picked this car up in October from a local dealership. The body is in really good shape, no rust at all. Interior is very clean too. Engine came completely stock. Came with Buddyclub coilovers, Cusco roll cage, Cusco front and rear strut bar, Cusco front lower bar, Kakimoto Catback, and Ray's 16" Rims. I plan to do a few minor bolt on's and keep the car simple and clean. The car is a real JDM EG6 from Japan, not a conversion. Enjoy!

Here is a picture of the Buddyclub coilovers that came with the car from Japan. I am not sure what model these were but you can't adjust the dampening on them. Only the ride height is adjustable. Unfortunately the City I am from the roads are way to rough to run a coilover this stiff so I will be replacing them with something closer to stock.

The car on jack stands while I am giving everything the once over after I bought it.

Bought a few parts
-Spoon Reserve Tank covers
-Spoon Rad Cap
-Spoon Shift ****
-Spoon magnetic oil and transmission drain bolts
-Replacement Civic & SiR badges (JDM guy ripped the old ones off!! Arg!)

After installing the Civic and SiR Badge, need to wax the paint!

New Shift **** installed

This new rad cap gave me so much more JDM rep

Reserve tank covers installed

Brake rotors and pads were a little on the worn side, thought I would replace them with a set of Magnum drilled rotors.

AEM B16A Bybrid CAI

Stock SiR Airbox removed

New Intake installed. AEM ran the intake tube in a really dumb area that actually required you to replace the front transmission mount bracket with a thinner one. The new bracket came with the intake. I was surprised they didn't run it through the pre-cut hole in the frame rail where the stock intake went.

New KYB AGX adjustable shocks. I like these because I will be able to adjust them pretty close to stock for daily driving and when I want to go to the track adjust them a lot stiffer.

Tein S.Tech Springs 1.8" drop. Hopefully this wont be scrapping on the ground with my wheel setup.

-Blox rear LCA's
-Spoon Oil Cap
Because the SiR came with ITR LCA's stock the KYB shocks would not fit since they were designed to work with a USDM LCA. I ended up replacing them some Blox LCA's and that way I could also keep the stock SiR rear sway bar.

Bough a set of flat black 15"x6.5" Rota Slipsteams off ebay. I can't believe how light they are. Next I need tires.

In your opinion its downgrading. The suspension I mentioned in my post that the Buddyclub shocks were too stiff. I fly out of my seat and hit the roof down almost every street. If this was a track car then yes I would run the Buddyclub but if I going to use this as a DD I want something that has a close to stock spring rate. KYB isn't an ebay brand. And Tein is far from some no name coilover sleeve you find on ebay. I am not going to compare the two suspension setups to each other because I know the Buddyclubs are better. The new setup is better suited for what I am going to use the car for. I don't what makes you consider it an ebay setup. I prefer the look of Slipstreams over the Ray's

i like the look of the slipstreams better as well, the suspension setup should be good for the streets and still be sporty when you need it. i have thoughtabout going with a similar suspension because my tanabe coilovers kill me with all of the shitty roads i deal with. those buddy clubs are god knows how old so i dont see it as a downgrade either, kyb agx shocks are a good quality setup.

thumbs up

Nice build. The KYB aren't bad but I would've picked the Tokicos or Koni's with the Teins. But ur car mang! God I wish I still lived in Saskatoon or Saskatchewan...NO FRONT LICENSE plate!!!

Your BC coilovers are worth 4x as much as the crap you put on now. You should've done something a little higher quality.

I liked it better as you bought it.

d00d this car is getting real sucky! AEM intake on a si-r?! kyb with tein s-techs?! surely you could of found a better, more suitable setup for a tolerable ride! I would have recommend investing all the money so far, into paint/bodywork to have yourself a clean oem ride first and foremost, then get started with mods. each to his own, GL.

no kidding. the stuff you're putting on it is nowhere near as nice as the quality of the parts you're replacing. Honest question: who buys CAIs these days? OEM intake with a dry filter and removing the resonator is <$50 and nets you the same power. And please, IF you must keep the rotas, throw the fvcking center caps in the garbage.

wow what dicks. Rota's are not bad rims, AT ALL. they ARE used by **** loads of honda heads however. and the suspension setup being ebay? wow, your done. That setup is a great setup for handling, and can withstand lowering. I also think the AEM intake looks and works just fine, whats wrong with it? and if its a DD car who would care? jeez guys, no need to be a$$'s

HT A/C Police seems to have overrun this thread with their stereotypical bullshit again.

Nice car, OP. Do what you want with it; it is your car, after all.

If you're building it up as a daily driver, why would you buy all this junk?
