the one on the firewall hooks up to the one shown on the intake mani...its for your heater core so that coolant can flow thus giving heat

The one sticking out of the firewall below the VIN number is not for coolant. It is for your evap cannister. That line goes to the gas tank for vapor release. It should connect to the evap cannister.

In the last pic I see a hose on the top of the throttlebody(TB) This hose also goes to the cannister too. I can't see a evap cannister so where did it go?

As for the other's you should check another car for the routing. Trust me you don't want to connect a coolant line to a vacuum port. Can you say hydrolock!

I just did a similar swap (Z6 IM on to an A6 head). Is that what you are doing? Your hoses look different from what I had. There is one you need to plug up, too.

The one in the third pic is for the charcoal canister, the others are coolant, you can connect those to each other

So once you get those heater hoses situated, you will still be left over with a hose that goes up from the IM:

That is the one you need to block off to put the IM on an A6. Go to Autozone/Napa/Carquest/etc. and get a set of vacuum blockoff tips and the smallest hose-clamp they've got (like 1/2"). That will work perfect to block it off.

You can get rid of those paired up hoses and use one that has coolant to go straight to the throttle body, and the one that has air (from the valve cover) straight to your intake tube (after the filter) or a vented catch can.

Hope that didnt just make things worse...

OK, I just double checked this:

The two fatter hoses below the small one with the red arrow are your heater hoses, and they are correct as-is.

That small one with the red arrow normally goes to your evap (or charcoal) canister, which you are missing.

The canister is for fumes from your fuel lines/tank to escape into during natural temperature-related expansion. The evap canister is usually hanging there on the firewall next to the fuel filter.

The canister holds the expansion fumes, and when you turn on the car, the purge-cut solenoid (on the firewall on 88-91s and on the back of the IM on Z6s) will switch on and allow the fumes to get sucked into the throttle body via the small hose inlet on top of it.

[EDITED]

I believe you just put a hose on the evap line coming from the firewall and run the hose down towards the ground. Dont put coolant into it, and dont run it down towards your exhaust pipe.

The one from the firewall shown on the first picture is not for the heater. As mentioned by other posters, it goes to the charcoal canister that is next to your fuel filter. Do not connect coolant line to it. It'll probably suck up coolant into the fuel tank.

Looking at your last picture of the very first post, I would connect the coolant line from the fast idle thermal valve (below the throttle body) to the remaining nipple on the intake manifold instead of to the paired metal hose. The coolant line from the paired up metal hoses is probably hooked to the upper radiator hose housing. You can block it off where it comes out near the upper radiator hose, and just run a single air hose from the valve cover breather to your intake arm.

I don't have a z6 head, but I ran into the same issue with my B18C setup, and that's what I did.

what else do you need to know?

If needed I can take pics of my setup tomorrow. If yours is an Si motor, then it should be identical.

In the last picture that you posted, you have the MAP sensor plugged into the TPS sensor. You have the Plugs reversed.

He's right, Good catch 90sedan!

Yes, you'll have to do some lengthening or unraveling to get the MAP to reach.
