Plzzz HELP! d16a6 no compression...=(
let me start of 3 months ago i was driving early in the morning then my baby just died after shifting on 2nd gear. Now my civic is sitting on my drive way for 3 1/2 months now and trying to get it working again, i have 90 honda civic si. Now i dont know why it wont start but here are the lists of what i did on my civic before it decided to die. new dizzy, alternator from junk yard, new battery, new timing belt and water pump, new radiator, new starter, new spark plug and spark plug wires. now ive searched and found out i think i have no compression on my car cause its doing this sound like this on the video that imma post up too http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HWnMxJp97-o. i hear my main relay working and i hear the fuel pump working i can smell gas but when ever i start my car it wont turnover... so here are my question, wth is wrong with my car and if it is no compression how can i fix this problem with out going to the shop. oh and one of my friend told me i probabaly have vaccum leak somewhere but idk really.. PLZZZZ HELP I NEED TO GET my EF to get running again.....
Is that you car in the video?
Post a video of you trying to start it.
Check if your getting spark by unplugging the plug wire, and setting it close to the valve cover bolt, if you see an arc you have spark, then test your fuel
Only things that have stopped my car from starting in the past was a bad or missing ground wire and my spark plug wires were in the wrong order, so check those too.
I read that not having coolant will also make your car not start.
start with the cheap stuff first before you replace something expensive.

noh i just saw it on youtube. yeah im going to put a vid of my car starting, but the thing is the dizzy is brand new, but im going to check it still just in case thanks for the advise, do you think it has no compression on it
Hard to tell if it has no compression. Just sounds like it won't start. I think bad compression will only make it run bad. You can buy a compression tester.
did you use tighten down the rotor?
re-heck all your electrical connections and fuses first.

Check your spark, fuel, timing and report back. If everything is good, go borrow a friends compression tester or buy one. Then you can figure out what to do next.
i havent checked the compression i dont have any compression tester how much would that cost imma head down to autozone to get one later can that be also bad grounds

i have fuel i hear my fuel pump working, i just replaced my timing belt recently but im going to check for the spark, i should get a spark cause the dizzy is brand new from honda
check your valves, if you have bent valves that can cause you to have no compression if they arent fully seating. i dont really know of a way you can check them without pulling the head.
edit:
i didnt read all the posts until now, saw you changed your timing belt, are you 100% sure it didnt jump timing? if it did and caused you to bend valves theres your answer for no compression and no start

you should pull your head off first and inspect the valves, if they are bent just replace the valves if you see no other visual damage. might save you some cash from just buying another head and throwing it on. its good to actually know what went wrong
easy way to tell if you have compression with out a guage, take out a spark plug put your hand over the hole and have some one crank it and if you feel it oushing out air well then theres your answer, also the shop may have screwed up the t-belt job check to see if the t-belt is still actually on.
kk im going to check this first in the morning
I'd check the following :
1. Timing belt is correctly on (marks on the crank and cam gears are aligned to factory specs) ?
2. Timing belt tensioner is correctly adjusted ?
3. Check that valve clearances are at factory specs ?
4. Pull all 4 plugs and perform a compression test. Throttle is wide open and turn engine over 7-8 times per cylinder. Compression should be consistent across all 4.
Your video show ZERO compression, wtf ? Is this the case on all 4 or just one cylinder ? Either cam timing is off or valves aren't seated or your rings are damaged. Based on your comment about it just stopping, I'd guess the cam timing slipped.
BTW, without compression, no amount of spark or fuel will make any difference. Good luck.
