Got a 2003 Honda Civic and the "check engine" light comes on every time I turn on the windshield defogger. It stays lit for a few days then turns off. I'm not sure what is wrong with the car. The car runs normal and I cannot seem to notice anything wrong with it. I'm thinking its a censor but not sure. I wanted some advice before I take the car to the mechanic and get ripoff. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks

 

Never heard of this problem. sound like electrical to me, or like you said could be a sensor..but it should be going on than off in a couple days...if there was something wrong with the sensor the CEL would just stay on
