Default Which AEM Intake for MY 2002 LX?

Im currently debating which AEM intake to get for my 2002 Honda Civic LX with AT. This will be my first performance mod on the car besides suspension mod's. So im curious which would be best for my car, the AEM short RAM intake or the V2. I know the V2 is supposed to be better, but the design for the 02 civic sits in thew engine bay just like the short ram, so am i really gaining anything noticable by spending the extra money. The price is pretty noticeable so im curious before i buy anything. Thanks for any tips as this is my first post on this website.

well thats weird, because on the other forums i have been on for civics as well as videos on youtube have said its a good upgrade. Im not looking to make my civic a drag monster. I just wanted to ad a couple hp while making my honda look better under the hood and sound more agressive. There is no way the restrictive stock air box can compare to even an ebay intake. Plus im looking at some quality intakes here, I would like to hear from some more people. And you say it has been covered but i cant find any specific answers to my question, otherwise i would not have posted it. Thank you.

What is a quality intake you ask? Well first off, it starts with a top notch R&D department. AEM is well known for this. Their kits are speficially designed to fit their desired applications. many of these cheap kits dont fit right, and dont have all the proper mounting hardware so your tube just hangs on the throttle body. You also get C.A.R.B. approval with a "quality" intake. Then you have the design of the intake tubing. Mandrel bends are a must, these create a better flow from the smooth surfaces and bends. A cheap tube on ebay will not give you this. Finally, you have the most important part the filter. I dont even need to say anything else about this, otherwise the AEM dryflow and K&N filters wouldnt be such highly recommended filters for any application. Come on man, why have we even gotten to this point. All i wanted to know is if anyone could recommend one or the other. Not trash my ideas and flame my post. Thank you

- Will you experience performance gains? No
- Will you experience an increase in under-the-hood noise? Yes
- Due to this, is any one brand necessarily better than the next? No
- In all honestly, unless you're specifically looking for that "aggressive sound," as you put it, it would be a waste of money.
