Default Progress sway/tie combo vs RSX S sway bar.

Will there be a noticable difference between the Progress sway bar tie bar combo on an EP3 vs an RSX Type S sway bar? I believe they are the same size but I dunno if the progress unit is designed to be be stiffer? I know that the tie bar will change stuff too but I can get a vibrant tie bar for 40 bucks. So basically I am wondering if the extra money I would spend for the progress combo would be worth it compared to the RSX sway bar with an added on tie bar.

I'm sure the progress unit is very well engineered.

Thanks guys.

im pretty sure the extra piece that comes with the progress setup isn't a tie bar but a subframe brace (like the asr). i cant answer your question though, i was just searching to see if there was any info on the performance of the progress setup...

my friend with an ep3 said they are the same size.. so its more just about looks and style. But progress would probably be a little better

Just a fyi, there are a lot of issues with progress rear bars and aftermarket cat backs. I had a progress and it hit both my hks and skunk2 cat backs....I am now on the cusco 25mm rear bar and it clears everything.

also if you are looking at dc5 bars, the year matters...

02-04 type-s = 19mm
05-06 type-s = 21mm
02-04 type-r = 22mm
02-06 base = 16mm

if you want list of all the swaybar sizes that I could find, I put it togather here....

No difference, go with whatever you prefer. A larger sway bar is a good sway bar, regardless of brand.

Honestly I have the Progress sway/tie combo and I think the tiebar thingy looks retarded, I may have it powdercoated black.

i have the progress bar as well and im planning to just install the sway bar.. not the other thing(tie bar?) that came with it.. i prefer the somewhat stock look and im not sure that the giant progress logo on that thing* will do much for the handleing, but i could be wrong..

It's just a sticker, peel it off for weight reduction. However you might lose a lot of horsepower. Decisions are so tough...haha

Um. The progress unit is 22mm. The RSX bar I was looking at was 19. I bought the Progress unit and I love it! It does hit the exhaust but I got some stuff I am going to do to fix that issue. There is a considerable less body roll and the rotates through the corners really well now.

Even my girlfriend noticed something was different.

And I think the tie bar/brace thing looks bad ***. Haha.
