Default 1998 EK Hatch :: Sleeved 84.5mm T3/T67 Build

New Pics and Dyno on page 5

I decided this summer that I no longer wanted a racecar, so I sold it to a friend of mine. I then picked up a 1998 Silver EK hatch with 200,000 Miles on it. I bought it from a local dealer for a steal of a price!

From there it got my old racecar motor and a bunch of new parts.

Here are the pics of the build up and install of the motor, suspension, interior parts, etc.

Motor
84.5mm LS block
CP pistons
Import Builder Rods
ACL Bearings
Clutch Masters Aluminum Flywheel

So far the car has been on the dyno 1 time for its break in tune. The car made ~340 hp on 7.5 psi through 2.5" exhaust. At some point I will be getting the car back on the dyno to get it up to the 550hp range.

I will try to keep this updated the best I can for the rest of the progress on the car. It has been a long time since I have made a build thread. A carbon Fiber hood, carbon lip and headlights are the next additions to the car.

actually i am insanely jealous of both your cars, since my poor little hatch hasn't gotten anything fun done except a nicely dented fender and broken flca!

the magic seems to keep flying out of imw...dang you guys!

Yea. I got little cans of touch up paint or whatever it is from auto zone.

It actually turned out really well. It had to be done since the bay was white from factory.

This is the week to try to get the car past inspection.

I have to convert everything back to OBD2 and take it in so they can plug it in. This should be fun!

I am also looking for a carbon lip if anyone knows of one!
