Default 2.5 DP what exhaust 2.5 or 3in?

I know I saw this thread somewhere but I can't find it in the search. Some say go with the 2.5" exhaust there will be less turbulance, others say get the 3in. Bigger pipe diameter get's it out faster. Which one would be more effective? I am thinking about an 80mm Apex N1 turbo muffler plus custom 3in piping. I am also having a testpipe made. thanks.
