Icon6 96 accord lx wont start need help!

i bought my accord in pretty bad shape but i did that on purpose just so i can have a little experience and hands on when fixing it up. everything was swell as i fixed everything that was either broken or not working properly EXCEPT for one thing. the car smoked ALOT, it ran fine but there was alot of white smoke that would just gush out when you start the car..but when it warmed up, the smoking diappeared. a friend of my father told me that he had a truck once that did the same thing and he changed out the valve stem seals and that fixed it, no more smoke.

so i proceeded to change out my valve stem gaskets, i bought a shop manual just to help me through the process. i did everything like the book told me, changed the seals, and put it all back together. now my car wont start...it turns over but doesnt start up...it pops maybe once or twice but wont start.

i never touched the timing, dizzy, or anyhting to do with the timing when i changed out the seals...and ive made sure to put the spark plugs and everything back in the right order.

ive done everything i could think of that might possibly be wrong...i thought i would ask if any more experienced people could lend me a hand.
plzzz!!!!

thanks in advance

Is the car outside, or do you have it garaged? Have you checked and confirmed the correct firing order? Have you Installed a fresh set of plugs?

yeah i changed the plugs and wires, i also have put them into the correct order.

it has been outside the whole time as my dad uses his garage for storage and cant fit a car. it rained one night whne the car was out there but the car was covered... could it be the distributor got wet and now its no good?

Not so much the distributor, but the cap & rotor particularly.
If you can see what looks like water spots, a blue haze like a halographic sheen and what looks like pencil lines when you look inside; ****-can the cap and replace it and the rotor as a set.
