Cast weld question

I just got this b18a1 block and it has a small hole where the timing belt cover bolts on, was wondering if its possible to weld it since there isnt really any pressure there..

Heads get cracks welded together all the time. Should be the same with the block

take it to a machine shop and they should be able to do something for you
