Default New BBK throttle Body

Hey i just installed a new bbk throttle body in my 99 civic coupe. There was no tps sensor on the tb when i bought it so when i installed it, i just pluged up the tps sensor socket with a wire. Now when i start my car it idles in the 2000 up and down. What do you think the problem is ?

Also i tried pluggin in the stock TPS Sensor and then in park the car revs from 1000 to 2000 over and over in park

You'll definitely want to get your TPS sensor on the throttle body and working. Is it giving you a Check Engine light?

You have to bolt the tps sensor to the throttle body, then you have to adjust the it to the right voltage, you should of measure the voltage of the old tps sensor before removing, so that when putting it on the new throttle body you know what voltage to set it at. Usually it should be around .5 volts or just 5 volts, i'm not sure, just can't remember right now, i have to go back and check my notes.....
when you do this, you should be ok then.....
Good Luck....

park? so your car is auto? there is a wire for IACV on the intake manifold and it goes to the tranny also. If its not connected right it will cause these problems. I know becuase in my 97 Auto EX we put a manual ECU in just to see if it would start and it started, but it would idle around 1500-2000 and the check engine light came on.

A. you have a vacuum leak
B. the large port angling up out of the front of your TB is for the line running out of your charcoal tank directly below your fuel filter.
