Default B18b1 PCV line confusion

Hey guys, I'm not sure where these hoses go. Here's what I've got;

Can you tell me where the line from the valve cover is supposed to go? I've seen quite a few pictures with it going into the intake manifold, but then where does the other line go to??

thanks

the brown one is a pcv valve. by the picture given you have an obd2 ls, do you see the thicker hose on the manifold? plug it into the brown pcv valve. cause it looks like thats where it should go. it doesnt look like its plugged in to anything down there, at least from this angle. if the thicker hose is plugged into something down there, then you really cant do anything about the pcv valve, just get an obd1 ls valve cover.

the black hose goes to your air intake 'tube' there should be a slot for you to plug it in.

EDIT: **for a second there i thought you had an obd2 ls with an obd1 intake manifold, then i re examined the picture.

Hmmm, the thick hose off the manifold is plugged into another PCV like plug. The hose coming off of the valve cover already goes into the intake piping. As far as I know the engine came from a '96 Teg. I've converted it to obd0. It runs good, but idles like ****. I get an occasional code 43, but I've already replaced the O2 and still have the same problems, oh and really shitty mileage too.

code 43 is also for fuel supply.

did you check your pump and filter?

the smaller hose in the middle of your intake mani is going down to a pcv thats mounted in the im. from there it goes to your crankcase ventiliation system. the thicker one on the left as you know goes to the intake. the extra connector on the valve cover though in the center i don't even see an open place for it to go. is it a 94-95 ls intake possibly?

how crappy of gas mileage are we talkin. are your injectors set up right? if they're obdo you should still have your resistor box, but if they're obd1/2 injectors you should delete the res. box. now i havent personally ran mine improperly so i cant tell you if it would even run if it does happen to be set up wrong.

The pump appears to be working although I haven't checked the pressure. The fuel filter was replaced about a year ago. The fuel line spits out lots of fuel when it's disconnected.

I suppose there is a chance that the IM is different that the original. I bought the engine from a wrecker earlier this year.

I used the obd2 injectors without a resistor box for several months, but I figured that I could try the obd0 injectors with resistor box since everything else is obd0 and the junkyard that I frequent is dirt cheap. So as it sits there are obd0 injectors with a resistor box in it now although the pic shows the obd2 injectors. I'm averaging 20-24mpg.

Quite often actually, but even when I'm nice and gentle on the highway I can't get the mileage much higher. I expected that I would get well into the 30's on the highway.

when i'm being pretty darn conservative with my driving style and mostly highway driving i get about 36mpg. in the city it varies but its generally around 28, and thats with gettin on it every now and again. i figure if i replace the old stock o2 sensor, maybe i can gain like 1mpg but who knows lol.

as far as your mileage issue i'm not really certain whats goin on. have you checked the timing?

B18B1 94 to 97 (or 98 not shure) got PCV on engine bloc....newer valve cover got PCV on valve cover so youve got a swap cover from e newer B serie that why you got this...just plug the cover!

dam my english suck!! p

The timing is bang on. I replaced the timing belt before I dropped the engine in and I had the timing set by a Honda mechanic (cause I still don't have my own light). I've replaced the o2, but I haven't had much luck. I even replaced the wire from the sensor to the ECU because whenever I plugged it into the stock connector the voltage would drop to zero.

Merci Slystone, so I only need the one that is mounted in the intake manifold. That would make thing easier. I've been trying so hard to figure out where the one from the valve cover was supposed to go.

That looks like an obd1 B18b1 with a 96+ valve cover. if that line on the manifold is already going to a pcv down below that just cap the extra one that you motor has ended up with, or fill it with epoxy or window weld or something of the sort. exactly what i did and i'm running mine obd0 also and car idles great.

you need to plug that spare PCV up, make sure your fast idle air valve is threaded all the way in, make sure you IACV is clean, make sure you ignition timing is correct and a fresh tune up never hurts either, make sure your grounds are clean.

Thanks guys! I'll try plugging it up. I've already had my FITV apart and made sure it's threaded in all the way, I've also cleaned my IACV and the timing is set, but I'll double check. I could use some new plugs/wires, etc...
