Well i made a big trip and before i made the trip i changed the oil in the honda and the oil filter. well the weird thing was when i got everything done i started the car and everything worked fine but my check engine light came on. i tryed to hook it up to a tester but it doesnt do any good because the light only comes on when the vehicle is started . so it allways says it passes.

ive noticed after alot of troubleshooting the the light comes on when i first start the car and the idle drops down. if i dont let the idle drop and i give it gas when it first starts it wont come on but as soon as i let the idle drop it pops on .

ive gone the 1500 miles to iowa for christmas with the light on with no probs im just worried about the trip back.

any help is greatly appreciated

Mechanically you'll be fine, its just some sensor or something.

Out of like 7 hondas, only one have I been able to get the check engine light off lol I just live with it.

Sometimes I take the bulb out if i'm tired of looking at it lol

 

hmm, i'm going to have to agree with T3KNiQe, i'd just take the bulb out or deal with it till you can actually get it to tell you what you have going on with it..

 

not a fan of pulling out bulbs to solve problems.
