Icon6 Buddy Club Spec II fit EF7?

I was wanting to know if there is any reason the Buddy Club Spec II exhuast system wouldnt work on a 1989 Honda CRX SI (EF7 Chassis)? everywhere i look for them they say they either fit the EF9's or the EF8's and i personally am not aware of the difference from my EF7

If it could fits into an ef8,then it will not be an issue for ef7 as both share the same chassis except for the engine(ZC and B16A1).

FYI: your CRX Si is not EF7, it's ED9. Your car came with a D16A6 (basically SOHC ZC) and the EF7 is a CRX/Civic that came with the DOHC ZC.

You see these exhausts for EF8/EF9, those are the CRX and Civic SiR's, respectively. As greyrex said, the EF8 chassis is the same as yours (EF8 is still a CRX, nothing special about the exhaust dimensions), so it will fit.

Check your VIN--it's on the dash and firewall. the 4th, 5th, and 6th digits are your chassis code, e.g. 2HGED9 or JH4DC2.

i have a 5zegin exhaust off an ef9. it fits without modifacation if you use the shorter jdm cat. the exhaust piping is a few inches longer where it meets the cat.

Does it have to be a JDM cat? Just check out eBay for different Cat's.

Sounds expensive. Your probably better off using the money elsewhere.

Im pretty sure they would all work, just match the sizes. Even if it's too big/ small the exhaust shop will be able to make it fit with flanges and suchwhats.

im not sure that cat is the same length as the ef8/9 cat. some of the after market cats are short. you just have to search around.

the easiest route would me to mod the piping on the exhaust near the cat. mock it up and see how much to cut off. if i remember correctly its only a few inches.

Exactly. This is probably the cheapest method too.

i might just take the cat out completely and put a telescopic test pipe in its place? i dont want to mock up the buddy club exhaust.

I'm not running a cat. I'm still on the stock exhaust too.

It's because the bolt's on the flange are in a different pattern, well, same patern, but different positions, so they will not line up.

Go to a muffler shop and have them cut and re-weld. or have them make a "test-pipe" for you, just a straight pipe with 2 flanges, one to bolt up to the exhaust and one to the exhaust manifold.
