ticking noise when gas pedal is pressed
i hear a ticking noise when i step on the gas. doesn't matter how hard i touch it, a slight tap on the pedal and u can hear it. it's coming from inside of the cabin( i think) its pretty quiet , music has to be off to hear it.
with the hood open and moving the throttle cable, u can't hear it. if i put my head down to where the pedal is, and press it with my hand its coming somewhere in the direction of the pedal. i don't see any unusual movement, any idea on what this can be?

ya my brothers 99 prelude SH does the same thing when he presses on the gas and sometimes when he lets off the gas is this normal?
I have the exact same noise. I have a ticking
clicking noise, Im pretty sure its my Axles. I can probably bet your is the same noise. I can only here mine when i press the gas, when its really cold. For me it starts to go away after driving 5 to 10 miles. I was noticing that most of you guys live in Colder climate areas. The noise may last longer and/or be audible all the time.
The cause of this is eather you have cheap axles(remanufacted) bought from autozone or whatever, or u have ripped boots and the grease is insufficient now.
Solution....by better axles...OEM HONDA, by best bet.

can this have any long term problems if i don't fix this? Where can i look to find a ripped boot or a place that doesn't have enough grease.
I have the oem axles in my car and i'm never replaced/changed them, i have 86k miles on my car.

Well..you have to get underneath, if they are ripped then youll see it. the areas around the wheel will be all greasy. your mileage really doesnt dictate if theyre faulty.
