i assume you arent using a stock clutch with the oem pp?

run it with a puck disc if you have to use the oe pp for a short time is my advice.

i think anything over 180ft/lbs is pushing the stock PP and clutch disk.

you are better off getting a cheap XTD clutch from ebay if you are on that tight of a budget. it will hold much more than the OEM clutch and is actually not half bad for the price. check out the XTD stage3.

you could get some really shitty tires and they might spin before the clutch does.

anything over 240hp on a drag radial will eat that clutch alive after few runs for sure.

How do you plan on tuning this car? Don't you think that the clutch/PP will heat up too much on a dyno and start slipping before tuning is complete? I'd find a used setup that will handle the torque you plan on producing. Try to find something that will handle at least 220 ft-lbs. THat' way you shouldn't have to worry too much until you save up dough to get the clutch you really need fresh!

if you will be broke after the turbo kit, i would just be a little more patient and just wait until you have the money for the clutch. the clutch is a part of a "turbo kit" it just doesn't come in the box with the "kit". It's one of those necessities like Engine management that people need and tend to look over. You can't complete the setup don't start it until your ready. It will save you headaches in the long run.

Whats the big rush anyway? If it's for a race your just gonna burn it up anyway. I see no point to rush.

I might give the stock pressure plate/6 puck a shot on one car see how it holds up. Did you guys ever try this on d series?

one of my friends did it on a vitara motor. 20+ psi, somewhere in the real high 200hp range. the car saw the track probably every other week for an entire season. mixed it up with 205 radials and 24.5" slicks. not to mention it was daily driven 15k miles. clutch never slipped.

projectdc2, the 200hp all motor cars you're putting these in are off the shelf 6 puck discs and just cleaned up oem pp's? i happen to be putting an act 6puck unsprung in a high compression b20 should be 180-200whp and im gonna use it for my daily driver
