I'm seeing the same flaws that were on your friends Lexus shoot. I have no clue as to what you're trying to capture/focus on in the 4th photo.. Even if your autofocus isn't that great, I'd practice and make necessary adjustments to manually focus your lens, so that your finish product is crisp.
