Solid Motor Mounts?
Has anyone ever tryed using solid aluminum motor mounts on their car? My buddy who has a DSM showed me on his forum DSM-Tuners a kid that took his stock motor mounts, pressed the rubber out and pressed in aluminum with the exact measurements of the holes and everything. I was wondering if anyone has tryed this on a honda and if so how do they work? and which one were metal and which ones remained rubber?
thanks
thanks

Definitely not fun at all. It causes a ton of NVH (noise, vibration, harshness). Basically instead of the rubber dampening the NVH it goes all straight into the body and obviously since Civics are uni-body, that means it's going to the passenger cabin. If you do swap to solid mounts expect to hear every rattle in the dash and interior you could imagine. Also, you'll feel the shock from the driveline from clutch engagement and launches much much more since the rubber isn't there to suck it up.
