my brother has a 99 prelude Type SH his reverse went out so he bought a 01 LSD tranny off ebay for $570.00 and the add said it came out of a Type SH model. but when we got done with the tranny swap his ATTS light was on. we double checked the tranny fluid at it is full. we double checked everything. Could i have gotten the wrong tranny, or is there a way to reset the light or what should i do?
Just to clarify, the ATTS system is not technically an LSD. Best advice is to check the code to see what is wrong. You check it same as a CEL; jump the blue 2P connector next to the OBD2 port (right-hand side of the center console next to radio; behind a removable panel), turn the ignition to "on" (don't start the car). The ATTS light will flash a series of long and short blinks. Search for the numbers you get, or post them here and we can help. My initial guess would be a wheel sensor got unplugged when doing the swap and didn't get reconnected.

k i will check the code but should i get rid of the lsd tranny? Also i am very confused some people say the the Type SH has 4WS,others say they dont,i was wondering outta of the 97-01 preludes which of them came with the 4WS? I read that ATTS stands for ACTIVE TORQUE TRANSFER SYSTEM is this correct, and with my ATTS light being on does that disable it? thank you

i checked the codes they were 79,52,and 53. also my ABS light was blinking does that mean there could be something wrong with my ABS. should i count the flashes on my ABS light.
No, the transmission should be fine if it all bolted up; the eBay auction was probably mis-labeled. codes 52 & 53 are left and right shift solenoids; don't worry about the code 79. You can try re-setting the ATTS control unit and it might be fine; the easiest way is just to pull and put back the 7.5A fuse from the under-hood fuse box (it's the ECU fuse). And yes, while the ATTS light is on, the system is not functioning.
4WS was available on a limited number of Preludes in Japan only.
ABS flashes indicate a trouble code was stored at some point in the ABS system; if it's not on while driving, don't worry about it.

and i just went out and check the fuse box under the hood and there is no 7.5A fuse for the ECU. In the fuse box located in the car on the drivers side there is a 7.5A fuse for the ATTS and a 15A fuse for the ECU/EAT ECU.What does the ATTS acutally do,what is the purpose for it, and with my ATTS light being on and the system not working is that a major issue i should fix quickly?

hmm, maybe the fuse location is different on 99+ (I have a 97). Pulling the ECU fuse should reset the ATTS system; if it comes right back then you have a more severe problem (or wiring problem). You can run the car fine w/o the ATTS system and without hurting it. The ATTS is a type of differential that controls how much power goes to each of the front wheels; without it working it simply gives equal power to each wheel (50/50 split) and will behave just like every other front wheel drive car out there. Trying resetting it and let us know if the light comes back on. I'll check on the code 42 later or you check search around here online.

k i just tryed re-setting the ECU. i pulled and put back the fuse and its still on. Could it be the LSD tranny that made the light come on. we have re-gone through the hole car again and every single bolt was used and all plugs were pluged back in, tranny fluid filled,i heard the honda dealership could turn it off for $850.00,but in my case would they even be able to turn it off and is it worth it.
I don't think the ABS codes are related, since your ATTS codes aren't ABS related. What are the ABS codes you have? Did you find the ecu fuse or not?
Get the shocks from hondaautomotiveparts.com . Don't go for aftermarket, the OEM SH ones are very good.
