Default battery power problems

my brother drives my 94 accord and he said some things been acting up. as he was driving he said the battery light was flickering and all of a sudden the needles on the cluster just dropped. i dont think its the battery because the battery is only a few months old. thi happened to me before and it was the alternator, but i changed that a year ago. he texted me earlier saying the battery died. i really dont think thats the case because he doesnt know too much about cars so is there any idea as to what it could be? im thinking my mechanic just gave me a shitty alternator and that **** just died again or maybe something is just raining the hell out of the battery. if it helps to know the past month the car has had problems starting up. itll crank but wont turn over. thx.

try cleaning ur terminals, sounds like a dumb answer but my car was barely starting and sometimes wouldnt even start, but when i checked the terminals the previous owner (i had just bought it) had put grease all over the terminals to prevent rust i guess but as soon as i cleaned it all off and sanded them a little bit it started jsut fine (and still does) hope this helps

It sounds like you're dealing with a low voltage condition. And several items can cause this:
Defective Alternator (Again?)
Defective Ignition Switch (Worn)
Bad/poor connections on Battery Cables.

I would suggest with recharging the Battery first and starting the car. With it running, determine if the Alternator is charging (and charging sufficiently) with a volt meter (Multimeter) sampling across the two Battery Terminals. With it running (with nothing else on) you should see in the vicinity of 14.2 volts. With it running (with most everything on) you should see NO LESS than 13.8 volts. If you're seeing no more than Battery Voltage (11.5 to 12.2 volts), the alternator qualifies as a desk ornament.

If it checks out ok, we should start looking at the Ignition Switch.

bought a voltmeter from autozone (it plugs in the cig lighter thing) and the volts were at like 11.2.

right now im jumping it to charge it to try and bring it to a mechanic.

Your charging system is toast.
As I mentioned earlier, it will be (most likely) be the alternator.
The 11.2 Volts you quoted indicate that the vehicle is running on battery power only; and depending on the Battery state of charge would give you about .75hrs of running time before everything shut off.
