Icon6 94 V-Tech swap to 96 V-Tech???

i have a 94 accord 2.2 VTec but tha motor is trash but i found a 96 2.2 VTec and i would like 2 know would it fit wit no problems like wires and sensors cuz my mechanic is tellin me tha wires and sensors r not tha same but i wonna make sure by askin people that know about accord>??????

no offense intended at all my man, but your on a honda website...... you might want to spell VTEC right.

Its pretty sorry you guys write comments just to tell someone how to spell.. haha, LMAO at you two!!!! But the 93 VTEC engine should fit just fine.. It is all the same. mechanic is a BS er..

Well your mechanic is not a complete BS'er. Physically both the blocks are the same and it will fit in your chassis. The difference is that the 96 F22B1 is OBD2 and your 94 is OBD1. Therefore if you want to keep your car OBD1 you are going to have to switch all the sensors from your old engine to your new one. The biggest difference is that the CKP sensor on the 96 OBD2 engine is down on the oil pump housing and it's in the distributor for the 94 OBD1 engine.

It's really not a hard swap, a few wires here and there but it is physically possible. Just make sure you have wire diagrams for both the OBD1 94 and OBD2 96-97 Accord all will be easy then.
