EP3 Carbon Fiber Hatch Y/N?
Well, I received a "hater" dent to my rear hatch. My deductible for comp is $0, so I received a check for the cost of the repairs. I have been thinking about swapping out the hatch for a carbon counterpart for a while but could not justify the cost. Now, with the insurance check I would have to pay between $150-$200 out of my pocket to cover purchasing the hatch, shipping, and installation. My car would be in the shop 1 day to swap hatches or 4 days to repair the steel hatch. Does anyone have a carbon hatch installed on their car now or previously? How do/did you like it? I have ever had more that a hood, so I would like to know about fit/finish/durability, etc. I know my hood is more maintenance than I would like.
I have the HFP wing, so if the carbon hatch was installed there would be a white spoiler and a white latch garnish on it.
Thanks for the input.

Get it man. As far as fading, etc. goes....same as with most finishes...maintenence. Keeping it waxed is key to protecting it. Similar to regular paint. You leave that crap unprotected....it's gonna fade.
The biggest issue with the CF products is that most have some fitment issues. Don't cheap out and buy one based on price. Spend the extra dough on the quality. Because chances are that if the quality is up...all things will be up...fitment, lightweight, resin amount, weave and pattern, etc.

yeah, I had a carbon fiber hood, hatch, lip, and my god so much more. But I bought all quality pieces and had no problems. I LOVE CARBON FIBER. But with my RSX I promised myself I wouldn't buy any carbon fiber because I'm an addict and I would want more!

Yeah, I think the mis-match looks great on most car colors. If you are concerned with getting it painted, probably just get the stock one. The weight difference will not out weigh the fitment, painting, etc. issues that you might encounter. If you want to leave its CF appearance on the outside....then refer back to my first post about getting a good one.
