Ignition switch bad?
Ok so today I go to start the car (99 civic ex) and i get in, put the key in and try to turn it on. Nothing happens. Accessories go on and the battery is fully charged (charged it in the beginning thinking it was a battery issue). So i figure its the starter solenoid. Hit it with a hammer thinking it froze up in this -5 degree weather in alaska and nothing happens once again. Out of frustration i get into the car and tap the ignition with my hammer a few times and it fixed the problem. Drove to work and stopped for some gas and the same thing happened. The car doesnt shut off while im driving. So i call up honda and figured out there was a recall for the ignition switch. Im just not 100% sure thats the problem. its only 30 bucks new and its oem. so will this be a good place to start or is it possible my auto start burnt something else up? my auto start has a turbo timer in it and when i pull the key it runs until i shut the door, then it arms the system? recently it will turn off when i pull the key and then hesitate and restart with the key out of the ignition. so i have pulled the auto start brain and its still wont turn over and there is no clicking. BATTERY TERMINALS ARE CLEAN
any help would be awesome. Thanks

The Technical Service Bulletin you're thinking of is number 02-031. It covers all 1998-2000 Civics.
The contacts wear prematurely due to the high electrical current and the engine can stall without warning. The car usually restarts. The fix is supposed to be to replace the ignition switch.
I don't know much about electronics like auto start and alarms and all though. Sorry.
