would using these headlights reduce glare compared to standard EG headlight housing ?.

anyone tried these with any luck ?

Looks like it would distort the cutoff way less than the stock housing.

 

nope.. super clear and better reflector means TONS of Glare!!

 

Are you thinking of using those headlights for an h.i.d. retro or just a pnp h.i.d. kit? If you are going to retro them they will work perfect.

 

was just goin to put a pnp kit in and see what it turns out like , if i was doin a retro fit i would use the standard headlight, just thought this might be a bit better then just putting the pnp kit in the standard housing.

 

That's like asking what is better syphilis or gonorrhea. For the sake of other drivers on the road, don't use plug and play HID kits. Retrofits are really not that much more if you take your time and watch for components on eBay. You get much better light distribution AND you don't glare other people. When it comes to automotive lighting do it right or don't do it at all.

 

Glare will be MUCH worse with those lights using a PnP kit.

The stock 5th gen Civic lenses will scatter the light much more, which means the footcandles (amount of light hitting a surface) at any given point in front of the car will be less. This means less glare, but it also means less light on the road.

The clear-lens free-form reflector lights won't scatter the light as much, which means more light on the road, but it also means TONS more light everywhere else, including up and out at oncoming drivers!

A proper retrofit with HID projectors will put the most light on the ground compared to any PnP kit, with very little to no light (glare) above the cutoff line.
