well.. i finally got my tig hooked up at work and decided to practice on a scrap piece of aluminum..


not bad for never touching anything but a flux core HF welder..


machine is a sync 200.

i got pretty comfortable after this as i practiced on a few other pieces of scrap so i welded a new bung on my bosses STI for his water/meth nozzle and it came out great.(dont have pics tho)


LMK what you think... mind you these are my first EVER welds with a TIG

for sure.. i had a wire brush to this for a while. but it seemd not to work to well.. thanks tho

 

Doesn't look all that bad for your first time. Keep practicing and it will improve.

 

buy a SS brush and ONLY use it for alum, might as well get two and use the other for stainless only.

 

yeap ss brush always used em to clean before welding.
