Bolts had to go at each 3 tabs. I marked where the hole should be first:



Then took the lip off and drilled:

GREAT JOB SK8! Wish I could have gotten the one I ordered for my brother's hatch. The guy fell thru on shipping it so I never got the chance. It was already milano red and everything...would have looked great on his 2000 hatch.

I love DIY projects like these.

 

now someone needs to do this for the 96-98. there was another thread before but the pics the guy posted were terrible. nice work!
