Icon2 Benen tow hooks...

...Does anyone have a Benen tow hook on the front of their EF?

I just bought a set(front, back) and Im not sure how the front one mounts up.

If anyone has pics and info please let me know, it would be greatly appreciated!

They typically bolt the the front "frame" and you cut the bumper. That is how it is done for racing, because when you get towed it must be solid because those guys are not gentle.

I still don't see the point of them for the street. It makes me laugh even hard when I see them at the track, as they are for "street candy" typically.

Yep its, sorry about that, but be careful when walking in front of your car, they've been known to bash your shins >_<

Return it. Then get yourself a nylon tow strap, that way when you need it it's there and when you don't you can tuck it behind the bumper cover. Pegasus sells ones legal for both scca and nasa.

Also when you do end up rear ending a car your bumper will have a chance at doing what it's supposed to and not transmitting all the force straight to your frame.

Then again if it's for show install it with self tappers, whats it matter how it's mounted if your not going to actually use it.

the front does not need to be cut on the bumper. just drill to holes to match the holes on the front hook. use the spacers (2 circle thing) to clear the metal flap on the bumper support (which i cut cause i didnt know better at the time) and bolt it down.

DO NOT CUT

the spacers lifts the hook over that flap
