Default No spark...PLEASE HELP

So i was driving my 98 GSR home the other day and my check engine light came on after i hit vtec. This usually happens from my spark plug wire popping off of the distributor cap. I got about two miles down the raod on three cylinders and it was fine. When I was going to come to a stop to reconnect my plug wire the engine just cut off on me. I got out checked the wire reconnected it and reset the battery. The car did not start and will not start since then. THe motor just turns over with no reaction of a detonation or half start. I did a compression test everything was fine and in the process noticed that none of my plugs were throwing a spark. I checked the 40A IG fuse under the hood and it looks fine. Another mechanic said that the distributor was fried with out even looking at the car. Before I buy anything I was wondering if anyone on here could help me out?

Could be the coil or ICM.
Have you checked for power on the black/yellow lead going to the distributor, [with ign. switch in run]? 94

Yes, the black/yellow should be "hot", [12V+] when ign. switch is in the run position.94
