Default Tire Question

I lowered my 5th gen lude 1.5 inches all around on H&R Sport Springs. I only have about 1.5 finger gap in the front and i rub every now and then. I'm using 16 inch rsx rims w/ 205/55 tires. If i get lets say 17 inch rota attack w/ 205/40 tires will i have more than a 1.5 finger gap? Will the 17" rota attack w/ 205/40 tires be overall smaller than the 16" rsx rims w/ 205/55 tires? i just want to make sure before buying the rims. thanks.

A 205/40-17 is 1.4 inches smaller in diameter than a 205/55-16, and 0.6 inch smaller than the stock 205/50-16. I don't know what the hell a "finger" equates to in Imperial units of length, but you will have about three quarters of an inch larger wheel gap, if that.

The correct 17" tire size for your car is 205/45-17.

There's no such thing as a correct tire size other than stock size. If the wheel is a 17x6.5, then I'd say go with 205/45s. If the wheel is a 17x7, then I'd say go with 215/40s. If the wheel is a 17x7.5, then I'd go with 225/40s.

You can use the following link to determine what's best for your car:
