Icon2 scraping bad...

i just put a new set of tokico "blue" shocks/struts and a set of KCR lowering springs. they dropped it a soft a$$ 1.25" front and rear nothing special. But it seems like its scraping on anything and everything it can. i no i got a set of shorter tires on it, 205/30/16 Nitto Neo-Gen. i do have a EGAY cat-back exhaust on it. what do you guys think the problem is? it sounds like its scraping on the cat.

Your soft 1.25" drop is a lot more with those rubberbands you call tires. A 205/30 is more than 3in less in diameter than stock size. So it probably looks like gocart wheels on your ride. Anyway, cut that in half and you're dropped at LEAST 2.75" all the way around. That's significant. Now to determine the source of the scraping, look under the car and see what's closest to the ground.

how are people here on H-t suppose to be able to see under your car and know what your scraping? I'd likely look for scrape marks...but thats just caarazy I guess.

Yeah, enough of my sarcasim, you could however take a picture of a level shot of your underside (car underside , don't try to play word games) and I'm sure some one here could take an educated guess and give you an answer correct to 99.4123% !

I would guess either cat or if your have an axle under exhaust muffler it could be scraping back there.

why so low joe???

i got them because they were on sale i got them for 55 a tire and managed to get mount and balance for free because i paid for it and they F****d it all up. so i got a refund and they fixed it. now it feels like it needs an alignment after the strut/swing swap. the steering wheel is off by like an inch. as for the speedo... so far never had a problem with it. my friends say im within like 5 mph of them. it doesnt ride rough at all tho.

not true

"When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 52mph (83.7km/h): 13.3% slower."

Get the proper tire size and you won't have a problem. Otherwise, the second 90º turn in your exhaust is about 2in lower than it should be.

The only proper way of doing it would be to cut and re-weld a portion of the exhaust to correct the bad angle. I'm guessing about 3º-5º of rotation should do the trick.
