Hello to all the tuners out there! Im writing this blog because im tired of being one of the only black guy at los angeles meets and i know there are others of my ethnicity that have this same passion of imports. So i would like to orginize a meet to bring all of us together. This is an open envite to all but gearred towards the african american import community. Before i set any plans in stone on locations and time i just wanted to put it out there. A little back ground on me! Ive been a gear head all my life. Im a machnic by trade but i write service for honda. I love the racing and building cars. I own an ek coupe ls turbo that ive had for a while. So that’s what im about and i would love to network with others across the u.s.

 

i've been on h-t for a good amount of time...and post fairly often...I'm used to be at TONS of events...there is a good population of african americans at the socal meets...

 

That is true but none of the meets are geared towards us and what i mean is that ive never been to a meet that was put together by a brotha ! or has been only about us. Im not trying to exclude people but i want to create is brother hood where we can network together.

honda-tech is were we all network, the import scence unlike most trends is multi-racial.
why segragate? maybe if rap music promoted more imports in there videos intead of low riders and dub cars, it would reach alot of audience........

 

Well i understand you point but this is not rap ! Honda-tech is a wonderful place to come and convo but what about that personal side to that "lol" is not the same as laughing with someone. im not trying to segragate anything . Let me ask you a question, Who do you go to when you have a question that you know that person will relate?

 

a broski im a brotha tryn to start a meet out here n da san gabriel area maybe we can get together and start to bring more brothas up 2 game in da honda community, but i agree that its multi-racial culture, but its kinda weird being da only dark shadedd one in da meet. im always looking for more black people who share the same automotive passion as me

 

well to be real, humans are humans bro doesnt matter what color you are if you love what you do then enjoy it, i'm mexican and im the only mexican out of my white friends and asians lol so it doesnt bother me ......

Well if you understood the first paragraph i worte then u would have read " everyone is welcome" im not saying that no one else is invited ! I would like to have who ever come. All of my friends are of a different ethnicity good friends that will be in my wedding but its its different when you have people of your race around you

i agree i'm also mexican but the meet i usually go to has alot of flips, some hispanics, and whites, and a few brothas have rolled out to. i guess demographics plays a large role too.

 

maybe you could also promote this on black forums or sites to get the ball rolling (i'm not trying to be offensive)

 

Honda-Tech is a nework in its self and there are no black forums for those who love honda or imports. So i guess this is the best site. Once again im not trying to set people out, Everyone is welcome !!!!!!!

I myself am Hispanic....but think about this you say all are welcome and your looking to make a meet where a african american host the meet.....than you host one with no exclusive race or expectation.

Thats sounds like a good plan! and maybe ill try that but im really looking at something different.

 

I had organized a meet about 1 yr ago in ontario it was called Union Thurs and it went on for a good yr before peeps started gettin crazy and burning the spot. But it was a chill spot that was every thurs night but im back to the drawin boards i'll have another meet soon juss narrowing down the locations and meet times stay posted for the rezurekzion of the new and better union thurs !!!

i had every race @ my meet n we all got alOng great it was a brotherhood N the meet was pretty big n never had any issues but dun mater ur all bros to me dun matter on the color of ur skin

 

race doesnt matter... car people are good people, no matter the color. but if you want, we can get a "meet" together with all kinds of people, and you wont be the only brotha there i assure you.

 

Hey I think the OP has a good idea. I have several of my buddies who are in to the import scene. We are all on honda-tech and we have pretty much dragged race, street raced and was in the import scene for over a decade. Ive been around since 99 and most of my homies been around since the first BOTI. Right now I have a 89 civic hatch that is race-only and under construction. I'm hoping to be back out at the tracks late 09 or definitely 2010.

Maybe it doesn't have to be a big meet, but just a small social so folks can meet and then plan something big for everyone to come to.

Who ever plans something, shoot me a PM and I'm there.
