Default What alarm do you use?

Time to get an alarm on my '92. Got out of the movies last night and someone had stripped both my door sill plates, layed them on my roof, popped my windows out of joint but didn't steal anything. I think it might have been a warning? I dunno.

I've got a Crimeguard on my '91, and it seems to work pretty good..but not consistently. It goes of for no reason sometimes, and others, doesn't go off when it should. It does the same on my brothers Nissan, so I don't think incorrect installation is the culprit. So I'm looking for a good, inexpensive (relatively...The Crimegaurd was almost $350 without installation).

What alarm do you recommend? Last time I was looking for one I think Viper? was the brand a lot of Honda guys run.

TIA.

lojack and teletrac aren't alarm systems...aren't they tracking devices?

first install a kill switch ON YOUR OWN. so that noone but u know where it is. and second, go to sound/performance shop and ask for an alarm that does 2 things 1) alram sounds off when ur car's tampered. 2) a device hooked up to ur ignition or fuel pump that kills the car when u press the remote on ur key chain...so when u dont find ur car on ur drive way...u press the botton and where ever the car is, it stops....sorry but i dunno what that device is called but any sound shop will know what ur talking about
