Is it ok to polish/wax a car a day after washing it?

Default Is it ok to polish/wax a car a day after washing it?

I never did this before, so i dunno, as i'd polish and wax that moment after the car was waxed.

I am a sort of detailing newb, always been interested, always wanted to get a serious polisher, but lacked the money to expermient.

it's typically best not to wait as the car gets more contaminants on the finnish

def can't do anything to the finish once the car has seen the road IMO...in fact, i'd never attempt anything to the finish if the car has been outside for more than a couple minutes after a wash and dry. there is just too much risk for something to end up on the finish and get worked into the paint and/or embedded in your pad. the only exception to the outside thing is if you don't have a garage, but even then assure yourself the least pain by doing it on a day with no wind, minimal pollen, etc.

store the car in a garage and ceran wrap it. then go back the next day and do what you need.
