that shouldn't be too difficult to fix. You will need to replace the whole core, hopefully they are still available... If not, as I remember there is a guy in WA or OR that is parting out a 1st gen on thisoldhonda.org. I have got a few parts off him, good guy to deal with. the fix should be easy for a locksmith, providing you can still get a core.

Is that plastic? I've only seen aluminum ones.

I just replaced my lock cylinder on a 94. if you do buy the whole handle take it too the locksmith before installing. they will still have to remove the cylinder from the handle part, however most of the work is done for them. for them to re-key my cylinder was less then $10.

whoops. Washington, Tennessee.... anyways, if you cannot locate a locksmith that has a core, you could easily swap the handle and lock assy, then have it re-keyed inexpensively.

Take your key with you. You might get lucky and find one that matches your current key.

IF you find a lock cylinder just take the tumblers out of your old lock cylinder and put them in the "new" lock cylinder. if you want detailed instructions just pm me, I'm a locksmith.
