Issue:
The cruise control does not maintain the speed of the car at all

Notes:
cruise control system turns on
button on the dashboard lights up
buttons on the steering wheel work
light on the cluster turns on

I have adjusted the throttle cables according to the Haynes repair manual so that slightly pressing the gas pedal will increase the throttle.

I have already checked out several posts but nothing is exactly what is going on with mine. The closest is 2354049 but my cruise control does not maintain speed at all.

I just purchased this car so I don't know much about its history.
