Default Need tire size advice!!!

does anyone know if 215/65/15 snow tires would fit on my stock rims, which have 195/65/15 snow tires on them right now...

No. 215 is simply too wide for a 6.5" wheel. Even if it were physically capable of fitting, the rubbing issues you'd encounter with a 215/65 setup would be nightmarish, not to mention it would throw off your speedometer/odometer DRASTICALLY.

215 is the width of the tire in millimeters. The "65" refers to the aspect ratio. The tire sidewall is 65% the width of the tire (215mm).

This is why as you increase the width of the tire, the numeric value of the aspect ratio will drop to compensate.

15" is the diameter of the wheel.

The 215's you use on the Motegi's are most likely 40-45 "series", thereby allowing for fairly accurate speedometer/odometer readouts. The width of the Motegi wheels, I'd imagine, is also in the neighborhood of 7" which will fit a 215mm tire far more comfortably.

Because you've now changed the overall diameter of the wheel. If your stock tire size was 195/60-15 and are now running 215/35-17's, the speedometer is reading 5.3% too fast.

Maybe that doesn't bother you, but that also means you're putting on 5.3% more mileage than you should have to.
