Signal light wont turn off after turn
I have a 96 DX. If im turning with my signal light on and complete the turn, my signal light will not turn off by it self. Is that the way it is or what? I just bought the car a couple days ago.
Actually, there is a defect in the unit, you have to replace it. They have a service replacement notice for those, but because its not a safety issue, such as malfunctioning seat belts, they aren't required to do a free maintenance on it. I know that it sounds weird but he checked alldata and they have a write-up on replacing the turn-signal switch.
Damaged clock springs can cause this. Get a new one if yours has never been removed and you're having this issue.
Clock springs are often reinstalled incorrectly when they are removed. Take it back off and install it correctly.
Btw, I saw no mention of a TSB for the turn signal for 6th gen Civics. I just checked. Of course there is a write up on replacing it though.
