Default Exhaust question

Do u guys run 3' exhaust pipes or 2.5' with ur 1.8?which one has the prefect back pressure?i want to run open header but i cant get it tuned and dont want to burn any valves.

from some people I've talked to NA = 2.5".
Turbo = 3.0", just as a general rule of thumb.

do u think i can run my stock header(more backpressure than aftermarket ones) and drop the exhaust?

Why would you do that? You're not gaining any horsepower. The only thing you're going to be doing is running around with an annoying exhaust (or lack thereof).

I dont have a exhuast for now and thats my setup and i was wondering its bad for my engine.

is it worth getting a dc sports header for a d16z6? i'm debating to find a good one at a decent price on craigslist.
