Im new to accords and just recently purchased a 97 auto accord ex coupe with a F22B1. the previous owner bought the car from a dealership and apparently the engine was sludged which he didnt know. the head was oil starved and the cam locked up in a journal and snapped. got a 98 F23A for a good price. just curious on what parts are compatible. valve cover and gaskets? timing belt balancer belt? im gasket? thermostat? i know all of the externals are different like the im, dizzy, front coolant outlet, rear coolant passage on the back of the block. i plan on using the f22b1 manifold and distributor but basically just want to know if everything will work and what parts are compatible. i just dropped the motor today so tomorrow im gonna strip everything down and compare engines for compatibilty and start swapping parts. any info would be appreciated.

 

i would get new gaskets its not a good idea to use used gaskets

 

dont plan on reusing them i want to know which ones to buy. unfortunately they dont stock most of these parts so i cant check and compare new parts like i usually do.
