This started happening the other day. After driving for about 45 minutes the ABS light would come on accompanied by a light popping sound behind the glove box. After a few seconds the light would go off and the car would feel fine again. When the light would stay on for extended periods I would turn off the radio and the ABS light would turn back off again. Today, as I was making the same 45 minute drive home from work, the ABS light came on again, but this time it shut off all the electrical in the car. The radio, the lights, everything. It came back on a few seconds later, but it still freaked me out a bit. I am a bit of a car guy myself, but I have no idea what could be wrong at this point. I only hope that it is something I can fix myself. I don't want a large repair on a teacher's salary. Any help would be welcome.
