B16 vs B20 on nitrous...
Im about to do a swap on a 92 civic 4 door, and im debateing on which one to do and what motor would be better on nitrous. Im eaither tossed up on a jdm b16a, or a jdm B20b? i want all around power, and in the 13's on the track. the my major goal, but in the long run i kinda want reliability lol i know im asking alot but this is my first b series so if you guys can help me id greatly appriciate it!...oh by the way i am only going to run a 45 shot wet. thanks.
A stock JDM B16a is safe up to 50 shot.
I say get the JDM B16a, they are bullet proof!!!!!
I've done all kinds of crazy **** like nitrous and boost to one of my JDM B16a OBD0 and its got 90,000miles on it and its str8!!!
Really, if you wanna do that stuff and still want a great reliable engine, I couldn't think of a better choice than a B16a.

Oh yeah it'll haul *****, dont know about track time but I held a STI (with a few mods on it) threw the top of third gear with two people in the hatch, subs, full tank of gas, with no LSD!! If I had an ITR tranny I might have continued to hold it, cause once I shifted to 4th around 8,800rpm I noticed instantly 4th was to long and he began to pass me. Still a stock B16 OBD0 with 50 shot, I thought that was impressive...
EDIT: I had VTEC at 4900rpm and nitrous comin in at 6000rpm, it was nasty...

So if i went 50 on a jdm b16a what do you think i could get at the track? would it hold its own around town to all these punks in my neighborhood with stock b20s n gsrs?
if u do the b16a with the 45 shot tuned!!! barely anyone on the street is going to beat u my b16a without nitrous rips everyone *** from dig and top end but my is slightly built it also is a very reliable engine for a dd but the major key is HAVE IT TUNED RIGHT dont be like all the other ***'s that never get there **** tuned and they *** up every other day good luck
oh yea and on the track u should run very low 14's maybe just maybe if u get a good setup and drive it like a pro u will get in the 13's if u upgrade the shot to 100 u willl get 13's
once again if u planning to build a B16 for nitrous and run 13's make sure u have a perfect setup and tunning
clutch
exhaust
Fuel reg
Bigger Im.
Cold Sparks Plugs
cam gear
and more....u will run 13
EDIT: If you can get some cam gears and Civic Type R cams on that to give it that extra 'ummph', without having to pay for a built valvetrain .

I ran 14 flat with a 75 shot on a b16 eg, it is capable of much more (300hp) as long as the tune is good. This run was with 185 street tires and no lsd. I am no fan of nitrous in the long run you will be much happier with a turbo. Its always there as where with nitrous your looking at $40 to fill up a ten pound bottle and that wont last very long, and its very inconsistant without a bottle warmer, I presume.
I had a b20vtec semi built.on my 92 4dr...not tuned...and i was keeping up with a srt4 i think the b20vtec tuned by the right ppl....u could do some good times...i had great times with my b20vtec..u should check it out......
