What did they do to the civic?
Look at this list of curb weights...
Please notice that the civic outwieghs the accord and CR-V!!
...These years I have, 2007 and 2008, show the civic at 3389 lbs! what a pig!
Then in 2009 they dropped 800 lbs off the civic somewhere?? down to 2588!
Which is more in line with the old civic curb-weights.
What was that 800 lb difference ?

Thats where i got the info.
But I think you are right about them making a mistake and swapping the hybrid weight.

According to my Canadian sales brochure,
when you convert the curb weight from kilograms into pounds,
my 2008 Civic sedan weighs 2700 lbs,
up about 200-250 lbs, not 1000lbs from a 2005 Civic sedan.
Even though it's nearly 10% heavier,
it has 140 hp instead of 115 hp compared to the 2005.
So that's like 10% more weight but 20% more power. (= faster?)
My "payload" is 850 lbs,
which is the weight I can add after the Civic has full fluids
and a full tank of gas.
*Yes it seats five people
and can (barely) accomodate five people averaging 150 lbs each, (their weight, not neccesarily volume)
but should not accomodate five people averaging 200lbs each,
or even four people averaging over 210 lbs.

I think you know why. I always see old hatchback civics with mufflers and aftermarket wheels and quarter panels that are rusted and about to rot off. they add 2 or 3 hp with their cold air intake and think they are ready for the circuit. Only to get smoked by a chevy pickup or any mainstream sedan with a V6. Before you reply "hey those hatches with a b18 swap are super fast all motor cars" yeah I already know that. But to be honest with you I'm glad my car is fast because I'm embarrased to start the thing up with my skunk 2 70mm.
Or you see a newer civic that's black and has black wheels with no hubcaps and all tinted out thinking they are night rider or something..I think These people need to get into something that runs 12's or 13's and then maybe they'll start to feel stupid in their rides.

Im guessing thats a mid-90s 5.0 Mustang? A V8 SHOULD be faster than any I4, a 5.0L SHOULD be more powerful than a 2.0L(or less), especially when it is in a vehicle that weighs only slightly more than the Honda.
I'm sure that if Honda built a 5.0L V8 and placed it in a vehicle similar to a 95 5.0 Stang, track times would be quite similar, maybe even better, due to Ford's inability to build a V8 that has any traction off the line.

And what's wrong with that? I plan on painting my wheels black as well on my black car that already has tinted headlights and taillights.....doesn't mean I think I'm "night rider"....it's just the look I prefer and believe it or not....IT'S NOT RICER. If you think Civic owners are the only ones that "stealth" out their cars....think again. I see it everywhere and even on your precious muscle cars as well. It's a popular look and there's nothing wrong with it.
