OEM seat cowl constitutes a modification...?

Congrats on the 600.

how did you like going -1 in the front?

and nice bike, I got the same in black and love it, but they never had any in white at my dealership and i've actually never seen a white one in person other than driving by, they look real nice though.

i went down one in the front too, and it def accelerates faster. i just went with a 30 dollar 525 15 tooth sprocket. its a good cheap mod, but i plan on going with a 520 conversion with a -1, +1 when the chain/sprockets need replacing.

I'm surprised! you managed to get 6 replies +1 of your own without one person calling you a squid! HT really has changed in the past year

+1 on Nice Bike, by far best RR color. someone on here some time ago had one with gold rims. anyone have the picture?

he did write it after the picture that he acknowledged squiddish behaviour was depicted in his pics!
i cant tell what pants he has on in the wheelie shot but at first glance it looks like full leathers, ha ha squid patrol!

nice bike *slurp* i'd get one next but i think im just a bit too large for another 600

i have a friend who wants to go +2 on the back and -1 front on a 929RR, does anyone think this is nuts?

1st off thank you for the nice replies

i have a friend who wants to go +2 on the back and -1 front on a 929RR, does anyone think this is nuts?
hell no its not crazy...drop away I say...the 929 in stock form runs 2 tenths SLOWER then the 600rr7 in stock form

went down one in the front too, and it def accelerates faster. i just went with a 30 dollar 525 15 tooth sprocket. its a good cheap mod, but i plan on going with a 520 conversion with a -1, +1 when the chain/sprockets need replacing.
I bought a 25 dollar sprocket as well...was thinking of doin the 520 coversion too but I do alot of wheelies and hard accelerating and I will just chew that chain up

thanks again guys and I know the white is the ****

I've owned a 929 as well as an '05 600rr. Regardless of 1/4mile times, the 929 has way more power. Stock, 70ft/lbs of torque for the 929 vs. 45ft/lbs for the 600 is a huge difference on a 400lb machine.

As for running -1/+2 on a 929, I say it's too much for sensible riding. I went -1 and I felt that was perfect. I had -1/+2 on my 600, and I thought it was too much because the bike tach'd up too quickly. Power was great, but it felt too loose (not sure how to describe it) because in the lower gears the bike would just fly through the revs

1/4 mile times don't really mean crap on a motorcycle as they all run pretty close to each other. But there's a huge different between a bike that makes 40 somethin' torque, and a bike that makes 70 somethin.

-1/+2 on anything close to a liter bike is going to be incredibly snappy and the front end will come up way too easily. The 929 isn't geared particularly tall from the factory. If we were talking about an RC51 then I'd say drop away, but I would tell your friend to try the +2 on the rear first and go from there.

my ex room mate has a 929 and I beat him everytime and I was stock granted I am 30 lbs lighter then him but still the 929 is heavy and obsolete compared to an new 600rr and there is a pretty big diff between a 05 6rr and an 076rr completley redid the engine and everything...also it comes down to the rider...but what ever to each his own
