Default rsr ex-mag sounds like N1 style

i just recently put on a rsr ex-mag onto my 92' DB2, drove it around for a good two weeks, really really quiet... then after that drove home after work and my slip-on blox test pipe slipped-off but didn't fall off, put it back on and got a clamp to make sure i wasn't going to fall out anymore... after all that sceniaro somehow my exhaust seems louder now, not quiet like it use to be... had a greddy sp2 before that, same sceniaro quiet at first, louder later on, so i got tired of the noise and got the rsr thinking it would be more quieter, but now it just sounds the same... anyone ever had this happen to them? quiet at first then louder later on? i don't think i have any leaks or so...

My old exhaust did sound louder after like a month of having it on the car, probably because it got resinated or something. Your test pipe will also make it louder tho.

I got an rsr exmag like you did and have had it for like a year and it still sounds stock for the most part.

no putted a clamp on the test pipe which is a extendable slip-on design by blox since i somehow kept slipping off... it is some how leaking from there but i doesn't sound like i have any leaks, sounds like its the exhaust itself... i had a greddy sp2 before, did the same thing, quiet for awhile and by the time i knew i was loud... might have to re-check everything again but midwest snow/weather &#*@ing sucks...

well when the exhaust is new out of the box, it does get a little louder over time, still stays under 92DBs though.. and I'm sure you got it used so I would check for rust or holes in the exhaust.. specialty by the resonator... or just go to muffler shop and make them weld up whole new tubing for you, and just patch up muffler if any rust or holes are on it.

and I know exactly what you mean by midwest weather.. dude i clean my exmag as much as I can and my rsr header.. lol.. im out there in cold snowing weather with damn hot cloth cleaning them!

bring this thread back...

called RS*R the other day they said something might of fell/leaked into the muffler and destoryed the packing fibers which makes it quiet... i know i'm burning barely any oil and my test-pipe did slip off once but only drove it for a good ten minutes from work to home... although this all happen when the pipe came off...

just wondering if anyone ever experience this??? next step is probably looking for a new exhaust or axle-back...
