What head do I have?
I bought a B20 VTEC. I know I have a B20B4 block, but I don't know what head I have.
The markings on it say 9/0 /4 1/6 1/0 PR3-3 Hm. I changed out my cap and rotor and had to buy the 1.8 GSR/Type R parts because the other cap was to small, I didn't try the other rotor. Is it possible to put a 1.8 dizzy on a 1.6 motor? or possible to convert a 1.6 head to a 1.8. I'm so confused, I don't know if I have a 1.6 or a 1.8. I don't suppose somebody has some info on this? Also, i was told it has an OBD1 conversion. There is another round marking that says void guarantee if removed.

It's been messing with me because it was an OBD2 that had to be converted to an OBD1 and I thought that a B16A was in the older civics, so why would it need a conversion? I was also talking to a buddy who said that aside from the internals the B16A and B18C5 from an ITR are the exact same thing. I was wondering about that as well.
So I was reading that the first 2 numbers on the head is the year. And my numbers are 9/0, so it was made in 90? I thought the ITR didn't come out untill much later. I was also reading that the B16A came out in later model JDM del sol's and civic SIR's. But it still makes me wonder why I have the dizzy out of a GSR/ITR. This is messing with me so much. BTW on the back of my diz there is no green stripe, there is a faded round sticker, but no stripe, although this could have faded after many years. If the internals are different then is there a way I can compare what I have to a pic somebody might have of their ITR head? I'm REALLY anxious to know. THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS!

Yes the PR3 can be a b16 or ITR but if it was made in 90 then it's a 1st gen b16 for sure. They use the same cast but the itr get a mild port cleaning and different valves, springs, cams etc. Same casting, but hardly the same thing. And since you though b16's only came in older civics. They did come in the 99-00 EM1 (Si). So you would need the obd1 conversion for that.
