tried searchin....no luck. anyways, just a couple of basic questions. i have a b18c1 and im getting a skunk2 intake manifold this week but do i need to change the IM gasket? also, i heard the gsr throttle body and cable wont work, is this true? thanx.

 

Yes its always beneficial to change your intake manifold gasket as well as your throttle body gasket. The GSR throtle body will work fine as long as you get the one designated for the GSR . As far as the throttle cable bracket on the tb you can still use the stock ones but you'll have to rig it. Here's the easiest way.

Other opinions are open, i've done this procedure several times and its worked great.


Also are you buying this manifold new ? If so, I want to give you a heads up abou t it. You will receive a compeletely bare manifold meaning. No fuel rail studs or bolts no throttle body bolts/studs, so you will have to remove the stock ones on the GSR IM. Sorry for the rambling but I was very fustrated when I first did my skunk2 manifold installation and since then I've done like 9 of them and its easy, just buy a pack of smokes before you start.

 

yes chang the gasket........as of now im using the stock cable going to swich it soon but for now it works
