koni yellows. what coilovers fit other than G/C????
well my car is way too low on the springs its on now and i need to raise my car. so for christmas im gonna get some sleeved coilovers for my koni yellows... ( which after 4 months im pretty sure 1 is blown(its making a creaking sound on the front drivers side shock and sounds like metal clanking/creaking.if you have any idea other than to a blown shock let me know!!))
i'm fine with getting ground control coilovers i just wondered if theres any other sleeved coilovers that fit on the koni yellows because of how their perch is set up.. i was thinking skunk2 coilovers because theyre cheaper..
thanks!

cheaper isn't always better. plus, with GC u can choose ur spring rates to match up with ur type of driving, (slammed, autox, full race, or just a luxury ride)
and both koni's, and GC have lifetime warrenty!

yeah i know g/c's are great but im jw if any other sleeves will fit on the koni yellows?
and if my shock is blown if its creaking and its loud like outside and inside my car.

Only two coilover sleeve systems will properly fit over and capture the Koni mounting circlip: Ground Controls, and Koni's own threaded sleeves.
I've been told that Skunk2 offers adapters to allow their sleeves to capture the circlip, but haven't seen any photos of said adapters to be sure that they fit properly.

I've used the skunk2 coil over sleeves with koni's on an ek and a crx and they work great. My friend also had them on his eg, that's originally why I got them, because they worked so well. If you aren't going to adjust them much than they are fine, but honestly I have the GC sleeves on my newest car and they are much much easier to adjust.
With the skunk2's there is 2 threaded rings that you use to adjust ride height. They are fine when new and clean but once road grime gets on the sleeves threads they are a total PITA to change heights. Also you have to deal with the stupid collar wrenches. With the GC's you just looses 2 allen screws on the collar and spin it up or down. I recomend the GC's, but either one should work for you.
Also I think I remember there being an addapter ring to use with the koni's, but they come with the coilover's. I bought both sets new and didn't have to buy anything extra to get them to work with the koni's.

damn man, 1 Koni blown after 4 months?? Mine have been on my car nearly 7 YEARS and are still working great.
The sound you're hearing is most likely the bushings. My upper control arm bushings make pretty annoying creaking sounds.

Shocks don't make noise, other than an occasional "whoosh" like you'll hear from hatch struts. The stuff attached to and around the shocks can make a lot of noise.
Unless you're getting excessive oscillation of that particular wheel or the shock is leaking oil, it's probably still fine.
