TPS Issue
So my car dropped a low voltage tps code and was jerking and sputtering pretty bad.
I bought an omni power tps and had a shop put it on and calibrate it. Well it is still having the same issues and just threw the tps code again.
The shop is telling me I should by an entire throttle body and put it on.
Any ideas? I'm not sure what to do now.

i had the same problem. The TPS attaches to the throttle body with rivets, i drilled the rivets out and went back with allen head screws so i could adjust it. get a multimeter, turn your car on (just on, don't have to start it) adjust the tps until it's at 4.5 volts with the throttle body closed, it should reach around 5 volts with the throttle body wide open. (might wanna double check on the voltages, it's been awhile since fixed mine). tighten it up when it's at 4.5v closed and your done. i hope this helps
Well I will certaintly double check it when I get the car back, but I am assuming that they already calibrated it to oem specs as they have been working on it for quite some time now.

close, but it's .50v at closed throttle and 4.50v at WOT

Also, I'm assuming that the wire that your probe you should cover in electrical tape after?

Another piece of info here is that the guy at the shop told me when they were increasing the throttle, the tps would just randomly have a drastic drop in voltage and then pop back up.
Any ideas what that about? Keep in mind that this is a brand new tps and the last one did it to.

That is the problem. It is not supposed to drop. It is supposed to go up smoothly.
I am having a similar issue as well. At light throttle my car does not respond.. And then jerks.. Of course this is only once in a while.. Actually now that I think about it, today it was doing it a lot.. I just replaced it with a OMNI unit... Im gonna change it out for a stock one and see what happens

so anyway the answer to your problem is get an OEM TPS and install that. stay away from aftermarket tps's. you dont need an entire new throttle body, the shop is just milking you when they should already know this.
I might just buy a used throttle body with tps on ebay for like 50 bucks and throw it on to see what it does.
i;m totally with hondretti on this one. i was going to reply but he covered my thoughts. just follow the pictures with the key in the on position. set closed then gradually open the TB it should smoothly advance to 4.5v at WOT. if one of the the legs isn't set right in the TB it could also be causing your issues. make sure you put it in right and the legs on the TPS catch on the TB
