Default Something good for our ITR: TODA came up with upgraded timing belt!

TODA just released the upgraded timing belt for our B18C motor which they claim is 200% stronger than the stock timing belt. For moded engines and even stock, it offers more reliability. More details:

hmm.. $180 for a timing belt.. that'll make ya think twice bout it. i'd rather just stick with my $50 goodyr gatorback timing belt.

Well, for those who money is not really an issue, and really care about their moded R, i think it's worth the investment. $180.00 is nothing comparing with the thousands you'll spend fixing bent valves, damaged pistons and cams when your stock belt snaps at high rpm.
After all, you purchased an R. So, get used to spend money in anyway. Otherwise, get a Hyundai Accent or a Geo Metro.

i dont know about that statement, i care alot about my R, but im not gonna spend no 180 for a t belt. and its not the belt that snaps its the teeth on the belt. i have never seen on a street car where the belt itself snapped. but whatever

oh and how do you like the short throw?? how much shorter are the throws??

It's for people with the bigger lobe'd TODA cams.
You know, the ones that have been snapping timing belts with the stiffer valve springs, etc ...

Not generally for stock-ish ITRs. Ed
